As I was watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies over the past years, there was one character who really stood out in terms of having the latest and greatest technology: Mr. Tony Stark (also known as, Iron Man). There was one technology he had which gave me an inspiration for the next type of “new” media, hologram communication. I could be wrong, but this technology only exists in movies and very limited functionality in the real world. Hologram communicating would allow end users to see the exact replica of a person in real-time who is moving, speaking, and even bringing up objects or files to display to others. This takes the current video conferencing to an entirely new level. Not only would users be able to see and hear what each person is doing, but they can also physically interact with the interface. For example, a person can touch the other person’s holographic display on the shoulder and the person on the other end can sense it. They can also display files, objects, etc ...
Eric, I agree with you in the sense that BlackBoard and Twitter are very similar. However, I think you should have mentioned that an in-class discussion differs from a Twitter discussion because of things like body language, nervousness, credibility, etc. All the factors that one would not be able to look into if they were staring at a picture of you and your tweet.
